WHAT ARE COOKIES?
A cookie is a very small text document, which often includes an anonymous unique identifier. When you visit a website, that site’s computer asks your computer for permission to store this file in a part of your hard drive specifically designated for cookies. Each website can send its own cookies to your browser if your browser’s preferences allow it, but (to protect your privacy) your browser only permits a website to access the cookies it has already sent to you, not the cookies sent to you by other sites. Some of our business partners (e.g., advertisers) use cookies that originate from their sites. We have no access or control over those cookies.

HOW DO WE USE INFORMATION WE COLLECT FROM COOKIES?
As you use our website, the site uses its cookies to differentiate you from other users. Cookies, in conjunction with our web server’s log files, allow us to calculate the aggregate number of people visiting our website and which parts of the site are most popular. This helps us gather feedback in order to constantly improve our website and better serve our customers. Cookies do not allow us to gather any personal information about you and we do not generally store any personal information that you provided to us in your cookies.

You can manage the placement of functional cookies on your browser via your individual browser settings. Note that opting out of functional cookies may impact the functionality of our websites and degrade your user experience. Calgon Carbon Corporation uses data from Google Analytics including information about web pages visited, age, gender, and interests, to better understand the behavior and interests of our customers.  Google gathers this information using website cookies. To opt out from data collection by Google Analytics, you can download and install a browser add-on, which is available here.

NOTICE OF NEW SERVICES AND CHANGES
Occasionally, we may also use the information we collect to notify you about important changes to our website, new products and services, and special offers we think you will find valuable. As our customer, you will be given the opportunity to notify us of your desire not to receive these offers by sending us an email request at info@calgoncarbon.com.

HOW DO WE PROTECT YOUR INFORMATION AND SECURE INFORMATION TRANSMISSIONS?
Email is not recognized as a secure medium of communication. For this reason, we request that you do not send private information to us by email. Calgon Carbon Corporation secures your personal information from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. Calgon Carbon Corporation secures the personally identifiable information you provide on computer servers in a controlled, secure environment, protected from unauthorized access, use or disclosure. When personal information (such as a credit card number) is transmitted to other websites, it is protected through the use of encryption, such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol, 128 bit encryption services. Pages utilizing this technology will have URLs that start with HTTPS instead of HTTP.

Calgon Carbon Corporation will continue to revise policies and implement additional security features as new technologies become available. Unfortunately, no system is perfect; therefore, Calgon Carbon Corporation makes no representations or warranties with regard to the sufficiency of the present or future security measures. Calgon Carbon Corporation shall not be responsible for any actual or consequential damages (or any other damages or liability of any kind whatsoever) that result from a lapse in compliance with its security measures because of a security breach or technical malfunction. Please contact dataprotection.ccc@kuraray.com if you have any questions or concerns.

Personal information may be disclosed in circumstances where Calgon Carbon Corporation is required to comply with federal, state or local law, assist law enforcement, comply with legal process, evaluate violations of applicable agreements, to protect Calgon Carbon Corporation from legal action, or to assert Calgon Carbon Corporation’s legal rights.

Calgon Carbon Corporation reserves the right to share your personal information with its affiliates or its subsidiaries. For example, if a customer calls Calgon Carbon Corporation with a question, but actually was seeking information about a product by an affiliated company to Calgon Carbon Corporation, the customer’s information will be transferred by Calgon Carbon Corporation to that company so that the company can properly address the customer’s question or request.

In the event that Calgon Carbon Corporation decides to sell all or part of its stock or assets or merge the company, it reserves the right to include your personal information among the assets transferred to the acquiring or surviving company. It is Calgon Carbon Corporation’s practice to seek appropriate protection for personal information in these types of transactions.

WHAT ABOUT OTHER WEBSITES LINKED TO YOUR WEBSITE?
We are not responsible for the practices employed by websites linked to or from our website nor the information or content contained therein. Often links to other websites are provided solely as pointers to information on topics that may be useful to the users of our website. Please remember that when you use a link to go from our website to another website, our Privacy Policy is no longer in effect. Your browsing and interaction on any other website, including websites which have a link on our website, is subject to that website’s own rules and policies. Please read over those rules and policies before proceeding.

YOUR CONSENT
By using our website you consent to our collection and use of your personal information as described in this Privacy Policy. If we make a material change to our privacy policies and procedures, we will post those changes on our website to keep you aware of what information we collect, how we use it and under what circumstances we may disclose it.
